ORIGIN OF MYSORE SILKS:

Mysore silk sarees originates from the state of Karnataka which happens to be one of the largest mulberry silk producers in the country.

Tales of its Origin can be traced back to the 1790’s during the Tipu sultan Era where the demand of this silk prompted an entirely new silk Industry.

Silk production enjoyed the patronage of the Wodeyar Maharaja’s that gave way to the first silk manufacturing unit in India. This unit powered with 32 Power looms from Switzerland is now run by Karnataka Silk Industries Corporation (KSIC) to weave what we know as Mysore silk sarees in today’s time.

SO, WHY MYSORE SILKS ARE SO UNIQUE?

Mysore silk sarees are minimally designed with exquisite Zari work on rich silk fabric, Manufactured only by KSIC. Every Mysore silk saree differs from the other and a unique embroidery code separates their threadwork and design.

Another Specialty of Mysore silk saree is that it uses genuine silk, 100% pure Gold Zari. 65% of Silver and 0.65% of original gold. Mostly, Mysore silk saree price begins from INR 16000 and goes up to several lakhs.

CONCLUSION:
